Morvil Contractors LtdMorvil Contractors has been involved in the building
industry since 1983 and has been a New Home Warranty builder since that
time.
Bernard Morel, the president of the company was a construction manager for 5 years prior to 1983. During that time he got involved with the construction of over 200 homes, townhouses, apartment buildings and warehouses. Since operating in B.C. (1986), Morvil Contractors has built many homes in the Kelowna area. Most recently, the company has been the recipient of a Silver Georgie award for B.C. and a Silver Award for the Okanagan in 1998. Starting in 1993, Morvil Contractors has been contracted by New Home Warranty of B.C. to work with the Warranty Program as well as geo-tech and engineering firms to solve and rectify problems including foundation failures and structural repairs. As as result the company has been actively involved in the repair and reconstruction of residential and commercial projects. The contracts included big strata complexes as well as numerous single family dwellings. The last major project in North Okanagan was in excess of $2 million dollars. Since 1994, Morvil Contractors has also been involved in numerous renovation and retrofit projects, researching and seeking out new projects and techniques to bring older homes in line with today's standard of energy efficiency. In addition to his responsibiliities to present customers, Bernard Morel
actively seeks to improve his own expertise in various specialized fields
of construction that he considers beneficial to future projects. In 2001, he
participated in courses for building envelope design and air quality.
